IST Programme

The International School of Turin (IST) is a benchmark for International Education in Piedmont, offering a comprehensive curriculum thanks to the International Baccalaureate (IB) programs.

Recognised and accredited by distinguished international institutes such as NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges) and CIS (Council of International Schools), IST guarantees an excellent education, characterised by high academic standards and an environment that nurtures each student’s growth. It’s the only school in Piedmont recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education as a private preschool and primary school, also offering a complete IB Full Continuum path and the American High School Diploma.

What is the International
Baccalaureate (IB)

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is an international educational organization offering programs for students aged 3 to 18 years. Designed to be nurturing and inclusive, these programmes:

  • Promote critical thinking and interdisciplinary approach
  • Create self-aware and responsible global citizens
  • Prepare students to successfully deal with the social, emotional and intellectual challenges of the present world


The aim of the International Baccalaureate is the education of young people into curious, skilled and responsible citizens, able to promote a better world through intercultural understanding and mutual respect
At the end of the path, students earn a Double Diploma:

American High School Diploma

with the option to take the Advanced Placement (AP)

IB Diploma

recognised by the Italian Ministry of Education as equivalent to the Italian High School Degree (Maturità)

The IB diploma and the American High School Diploma completed with 3 AP’s provides access to Italian and international universities.

IB programs offered by IST

The IB is articulated into three educational programs, each designed for a specific academic stage: the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for preschool and primary school, the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for secondary school and part of High School and the Diploma Programme (DP) for the last years of High School:
