At the International School of Turin (IST), students have the opportunity to develop diplomatic skills, learn more about international affairs and hone communication skills through the Model United Nations (MUN). This academic simulation of the United Nations offers an engaging experience into the world of diplomacy and global politics preparing students to understand and face international challenges.
In the latest years, IST has organised and hosted the Turin Model United Nations (TOMUN), a high level congress held at the United Nations campus and IST campus in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO).
This event gathers together students from Italian and International Schools offering them the opportunity to debate global issues, propose diplomatic solutions and develop leadership skills.
Within the framework of TOMUN, students take on the role of delegates and ambassadors representing Countries and organizations in a simulation of United Nations’ activities. During the program, participants engage in:

In addition to the annual conference, IST offers its students the opportunity to participate in the MUN Club, which regularly meets throughout the year. During the meetings, students prepare for conferences, discuss current global issues and hone their debating skills.
The MUN Club is a space for personal growth where students learn to collaborate, build diplomatic strategies and engage with different perspectives, thus improving their analytical and communication skills.
