University Counseling

Support, events and orientation days

The International School of Turin (IST) offers a comprehensive university counseling service led by our University Counselor to support students in their choice of Diploma Programme (DP) subjects and the preparation of university applications. The aim is to provide students with the necessary tools to navigate the complex admission process to universities worldwide with awareness and self-confidence.

A tailored university
counseling service

IST University Counselor supports high school students in the planning of their academic and professional future through a personalized program. This support includes:

  • Counseling in the choice of Diploma Programme (DOP) or Advanced Placement (AP) subjects to ensure a curriculum consistent with students’ university aspirations.
  • Individual and group meetings to guide students in the selection of universities that best suit their profile and interests, exploring national and international university options.
  • Assistance in the preparation of applications, including reviewing cover letters, academic CVs and reference requests.
  • Information on standard tests, such as PSAT, SAT and specific preparation for students interested in American universities.

University counseling events

IST organises numerous events offering students the opportunity to meet university representatives and industry professionals.

Among the main initiatives are:

  • Visits to universities and colleges: during the academic year, students have the opportunity to visit university campuses in Italy and abroad, to explore firsthand the academic environment and learn about the facilities offered. Students are particularly encouraged to attend open days organised by the University of Turin, a great opportunity to discover the academic programs, facilities and opportunities offered by local institutions.
  • Regional and international university fairs: the school keeps its students updated about events organised by the region and encourages them to participate and explore the different academic options
  • Career days and career seminars: events dedicated to help students understand the diverse professional opportunities and being advised by industry experts.

A guided path
for the academic future

Thanks to a structured and personalised counseling program, IST students receive ongoing support to confidently navigate the transition to university. The combination of individual counseling, informational events and connections with international universities allows students to make informed decisions and build a solid academic path that suits their aspirations.
