the inclusion program at IST
The International School of Turin (IST) welcomes numerous students every year from Italian and international schools, ensuring a structured and personalised curriculum.
Thanks to an academic system based on international standards and a multicultural environment, IST represents an ideal choice for students seeking high-quality and future oriented education.
In recent years, the International School of Turin (IST) has seen a steady influx of both Italian and international students. New enrollments remain high, confirming a constant interest in our school’s educational proposal.
Students join the school at different school levels, with a greater concentration in transitional levels, such as first grade, first year of Middle School and first year of High School. To facilitate this transition, IST has developed an inclusion program to support students’ wellbeing involving the collaboration with school administration, teachers and the school psychologist.
The International School of Turin welcomes students coming from Italian and International schools through a clear and structured admission process designed to ensure effective and smooth integration. The aim is to offer each student a curriculum in line with their skills and needs, ensuring seamless integration into the school community.
Interested families must complete the following steps:
Enrollment will be confirmed only after complete documentation verification and completion of all required steps. Thanks to this structured process, each new student is adequately supported for optimal integration, facilitating the transition to the new academic and cultural environment at IST.
The International School of Turin (IST) is committed to creating a welcoming and nurturing environment in which every student can easily and successfully integrate. To achieve this goal, the school offers a comprehensive support system designed to accompany students through every aspect of their integration: academic, linguistic and social.
Student support is provided through various initiatives:
Personalised orientation program: every new student participates in informative meetings helping them to understand the curriculum’s structure, academic expectations and opportunities offered by the school.
Buddy system: each new student is assigned a classmate (“buddy”) that will support them during the first weeks, facilitating orientation within the school, getting to know peers and integrating into the IST community.
Linguistic assistance: students who need it, can enter the English Language Learning (ELL) program, allowing them to rapidly develop the linguistic proficiency required to confidently navigate the curriculum.
Counseling and support for wellbeing: the student support team is available to provide emotional assistance and guide students through the adjustment process, helping them handle change and live the new school experience at its best.
Socialization initiatives: through extracurricular activities, events and school projects, students and their families have the opportunity to make new friends and feel part of the IST community from the very first days.
