The IST Field Trip program is a unique feature of the school’s curriculum, through the use of carefully selected and designed off-campus trips that will serve worthwhile educational outcomes and enhance the learning process of our students.
The School offers both trips within Italian borders that focus on Italian heritage, regional differences, and cultural diversity, and international field trips to focus on cross-cultural understanding and promote a global vision of the world.
Since the earliest years, students participate in school trips designed to foster curiosity and learning through direct experience. The activities are suited to each age-group aimed at encouraging observation, exploration and contact with local environment.
Destinations often feature planetariums, zoos, educational farms, adventure parks, museums, or theaters. Every field trip is directly integrated into the classroom curriculum to reinforce current learning objectives.
Our primary school field trips bring learning to life by blending cultural, artistic, and scientific
experiences directly with our classroom curriculum. Students explore incredible destinations, from theaters and museums to adventure parks and recycling centers.
Taking the adventure a step further, our Grade 4 and 5 students experience their first overnight residential trip—a wonderful opportunity to build independence, bond with peers, and learn outside the classroom for one exciting night!
During Secondary School, trips acquire a broader and more structured dimension fostering autonomy, critical thinking and an international outlook. Experiences include nature trips to Valsesia and Lake Maggiore, cultural visits to Italian towns such as Trieste and study trips abroad to different countries such as: Spain, France, Germany, Portugal and Scotland, as well as European destinations like Brussels and Prague.
We believe that curricular and extracurricular activities involving travel are an essential part of our student’s learning path. Thus, we expect all students to take part in the trips.
Expenses for these trips are included in the regular school annual tuition.
